Pune: Ammonia Gas Leak At Food Processing Factory In Yavat Hospitalizes 17
A hazardous ammonia gas leak at a food processing factory in Yavat, Pune district, Maharashtra, led to the hospitalization of 17 individuals. One of the affected individuals is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The incident occurred on Tuesday morning and has been brought under control.
The leak occurred at a ready-to-eat food processing unit, prompting a swift emergency response. According to Narayan Deshmukh, senior inspector with Yavat Police, “The incident resulted in 17 individuals being taken to the hospital. The person who was near the leakage point has been admitted to the ICU for better care and monitoring.”
Fortunately, the current condition of all those hospitalized is stable and out of danger, although they are still under observation as a precaution. A team from Pune Rural Police inspected the factory to determine the cause of the leak, which was efficiently brought under control by the factory’s internal safety system.
