Pune: Residents Demand Urgent Action As Traffic Congestion Hits Sus Road: Safety Of Students At Risk

Residents of Sus Road are increasingly alarmed over severe traffic congestion affecting students and parents. The narrow road, plagued with potholes and inadequate traffic management, has become a daily challenge for commuters. The situation worsens with the high volume of vehicles from nearby IT companies in Hinjawadi and educational institutions like Dhruv Global School, Vidya Valley, and Symbiosis. Parents are especially worried about the safety of their children as they navigate the dangerous road. Frequent traffic jams and the lack of traffic signals at key intersections contribute to delays and confusion, making it difficult for students to reach school on time.

Arpit Badwaik, a parent, highlighted the issue: “Every day, we face the stress of getting our children to school safely. The road’s condition is a serious danger. Immediate action from authorities is needed. There are potholes everywhere which don’t have a permanent solution. Instead they fill it up temporarily due to which there are lots of accidents which take place. Some people have complained to the PMC to broaden the road or put up signals but no permanent action has taken place.”

Residents are calling for urgent measures to address the problem. They propose widening Sus Road, repairing potholes, and installing traffic signals at crucial points.

Additionally, they advocate for the appointment of traffic wardens to manage vehicle flow, especially during peak hours.

The community hopes the authorities will prioritize these upgrades to enhance safety and ease the traffic crisis on Sus Road.
