61 Lives Lost in Brazil Plane Crash; Tragic Footage Emerges On Internet
A devastating plane crash near São Paulo, Brazil, has claimed the lives of all 61 people on board, according to local officials. The aircraft, a regional turboprop plane manufactured by ATR, was seen in a viral video spiraling out of control before it plummeted behind a cluster of trees near residential homes, followed by a large plume of black smoke.

The crash occurred in the town of Vinhedo, approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of São Paulo. Local authorities in Valinhos, a neighboring city, confirmed that there were no survivors. Fortunately, only one house in a nearby condominium complex was damaged, and no residents were injured.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, speaking at an event shortly after the incident, expressed his sorrow over the tragedy, asking for a moment of silence to honor the victims.
The aircraft, operated by the airline Voepass, had departed from Cascavel in the state of Paraná and was en route to São Paulo’s main international airport. The cause of the crash remains unknown, and the airline has yet to provide further details. Shortly after the crash, São Paulo’s state fire brigade dispatched seven crews to the scene.
The plane involved in the crash was identified by FlightRadar24 as an ATR 72-500 turboprop. ATR, a joint venture between Airbus and the Italian aerospace group Leonardo, has not yet responded to requests for comment.
