Pune: Kondhwa Police Seizes 9 Stolen Motorcycles In Swift Operation

Kondhwa Police Station has cracked down on a group of thieves who stole motorcycles for joyrides, recovering 9 stolen vehicles worth ₹3.60 lakhs. The breakthrough came after Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar and Police Inspector Mansingh Patil launched a special drive to combat vehicle theft in the area. Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Assistant Police Inspector Lekhaji Shinde and comprising Police Constables Rahul Thorat and Suhas More, detained two minors riding a suspicious motorcycle without a number plate. Upon interrogation, the minors confessed to stealing the vehicle, leading to the recovery of eight more stolen motorcycles.
The accused, Akash Deepak Dhanwate (19), was arrested and confessed to stealing the vehicles for joyriding. The recovered motorcycles include a KTM 200 Duke, three Activa motorcycles, a Pension Prof motorcycle, a Dio motorcycle, an Access motorcycle, and a Splendor Plus motorcycle. This achievement highlights the Kondhwa Police Station’s commitment to combating vehicle theft and ensuring public safety. The recovery of the stolen motorcycles brings relief to the owners and serves as a warning to potential thieves that joyriding will not be tolerated.
