PMC installs thermocol recycling center
Pune Municipal Corporation alongwith K K Nag Private Limited, Swachh Cooperative society have jointly set up a thermocol recycling center in the city. The project was officially launched recently at the hands of Pune Municipal Corporation Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Aditya Malve, Sonali Landge, Rajashree Kale, Aparna Kurhade, Additional commissioner Dr Kunal Khemnar, K K Nag, Mitali Nag and Harshad Barde.
Till date 7,830 kgs of thermocol collection has been done which will be sent for recycling. Thermocol is segregated by Swach waste pickers from the waste at many centers. To make the system more efficient in pick up and recycling, 150 centers have been set up in the city and 7 centers have been created for handing over of waste and 10 segregation centers have been set up too.
