Pune – A meeting was held yesterday at Sahyadri Guest House, Mumbai, to discuss various development projects and initiatives related to Daund, Pune. During the meeting, a committee was formed to establish a revised policy for constructing submerged bunds in the backwater region of Ujani Dam. The final policy decision will be made based on the committee’s report. The meeting was addressed by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Key points discussed in the meeting include:
Approval of the underground canal project from Khadakwasla Dam to Fursungi and Loni Kalbhor.
Acceptance of the Surve Committee’s report on redirecting the water, naturally flowing eastward from the Mulshi and Koyna projects in the Krishna basin, back to the east, and establishing a policy based on the findings.
Administrative and cabinet approval for converting and lining the canals of the Janai-Shirsai Lift Irrigation Scheme into a closed pipeline distribution system.
Approval of a revised policy for the elimination of acidic, saline, and marshy farmlands in the state, specifically focusing on the Daund taluka.
Transfer of one hectare of land from the City Survey 550 and 574 in Yavat, which is currently under the Water Resources Department, to the Pune Rural Superintendent of Police for constructing a police station building and housing colony.
Directives to the Secretary of Energy to address various issues and demands related to MSEDCL in Daund taluka.
The meeting concluded with assurances that all these issues will be addressed promptly, with positive consideration given to each matter. The meeting was attended by MLA Rahul Kul, MLA Jaykumar Gore, officials from the concerned departments, and other dignitaries.
