Mishandled luggage by ground staff sparks growing dissatisfaction among passengers.

Passengers at Pune Airport have raised serious concerns over the mishandling of their luggage by airline ground staff. The issue came to light after several flyers shared their experiences of damaged luggage on social media, pointing to negligence in handling baggage.

Baner resident Arpan Shukla, who was on an Akasa flight to Goa on October 6, witnessed ground staffers of IndiGo mishandling passengers’ luggage. Sitting by the window, Shukla filmed the incident where staff were seen carelessly throwing bags into a tug. He posted the video online, expressing concern over the poor handling. “They were just throwing the luggage. This is not acceptable.”

Amrita Singh, who flew from Pune to Ranchi, shared a picture of her cracked trolley bag on X, calling out IndiGo for their poor service. “They broke my luggage and didn’t provide any help when I reported it,” she said. Singh’s complaint was echoed by several others, highlighting that this issue spans across multiple airlines.

Krishna Kumar, who traveled from Delhi to Pune with Air India, posted on social media about his damaged suitcase, accusing the airline of negligence. Similarly, Amar Vishwakarma reported a case involving SpiceJet, after his brother’s luggage was damaged during a flight from Jaipur to Pune.

Passengers have voiced frustration over the lack of assistance and the airlines’ indifferent response to such complaints. Rashi Agarwal and Paras Khosla also took to social media, sharing images of their torn and cracked trolley bags after flying with IndiGo, further amplifying the outcry.

Airlines have acknowledged some complaints, but flyers are demanding stricter measures to ensure their belongings are handled with care.

With concerns mounting, passengers are hoping for improvements in baggage handling to prevent further incidents of damage.
