Pune, Maharashtra, is set to witness a groundbreaking development with the establishment of the state’s first 3D-printed post office. Located in Sahakarnagar, this innovative post office will utilize advanced 3D printing technology, mirroring the success of India’s first 3D-printed post office inaugurated in Bangalore last year.

The construction process will begin soon, employing 3D printing techniques that allow for rapid assembly with minimal human intervention. The new facility is a response to Pune’s rapid growth, and the postal department has been expanding its services in suburban areas. Recently, new post offices have also been launched in Ambegaon, Bavdhan, and Shijani Nagar.

As the Diwali season approaches, the postal department is also enhancing its overseas courier services for festive snacks. Following last year’s successful launch, which generated Rs 50 lakhs in revenue, the service will now include packaging and delivering traditional snacks to 130 countries. With a revenue target of Rs 1 crore, the department aims to build on last year’s achievements.
