Bharat Natyam Students Mesmerize Audience At Dussehra Celebration In Pune
Pune: The Natsamrat Nilu Phule Natyagru auditorium in Pimple Gurav came alive with a vibrant display of Bharat Natyam as Dr. Mahalakshmi Krishnamurthy and her students took the stage. The event, celebrating the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, marked the second consecutive year of performances by students from Maha Natyalaya, Krishnamurthy’s renowned Bharat Natyam dance academy in western Pune.
Mahalakshmi Krishnamurthy, a dedicated proponent of the Kalakshetra style of Bharat Natyam, has been sharing her passion for this classical dance for the last six years. The evening showcased a range of talent from her academy, with students aged 6 to 16 performing. Beginners impressed with simple yet graceful routines, while advanced learners dazzled the 400-strong audience with intricate choreography and professional-level expressions.
The performances, filled with rhythm, grace, and tradition, captivated the audience, who enthusiastically clapped along and gave the students a rousing round of applause at the end of the event, making it a memorable night for all involved.
