A fire broke out at Pune Metro’s Mandai station around midnight, raising concerns but ultimately causing no significant damage or service interruptions. The fire started when foam material ignited during welding work. Thick smoke filled the station, prompting a swift response from the Pune Fire Brigade.

Five fire engines were dispatched, and the fire was brought under control within five minutes using fire extinguishers. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Pune MP and Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol addressed the situation on Twitter, noting that the fire occurred after passenger services had concluded. He confirmed that the incident was related to welding work in the upper section of the station and assured the public that it would not impact Metro services, based on information from Pune Metro’s Executive Director, Shravan Hardikar.
