Akshay Kumar Donates Rs 1 Crore for Feeding Monkeys in Ayodhya Ahead of Diwali
New Delhi: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has generously donated Rs 1 crore to support an initiative to feed the monkeys in Ayodhya, a city closely associated with Lord Ram. This initiative, led by the Anjaneya Sewa Trust under the guidance of Jagatguru Swami Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj, aims to provide for the city’s monkey population, especially during the festive season.
Akshay’s team shared that this contribution holds personal significance for the actor, who dedicated the donation to the memory of his parents, Hari Om and Aruna Bhatia, and his father-in-law, the late veteran actor Rajesh Khanna. Their names are inscribed on the feeding van as a tribute.
Priya Gupta, founder-trustee of Anjaneya Sewa Trust, expressed gratitude, saying, “Akshay has always shown immense kindness and generosity, whether to his staff, colleagues, or loved ones. He not only donated instantly but also ensured this service honors his family’s legacy. Additionally, he expressed concern for Ayodhya’s citizens, emphasizing that feeding the monkeys shouldn’t cause any inconvenience or litter in the city.”
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar is set to star alongside Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone, and Kareena Kapoor Khan in Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty, releasing this Diwali. Upcoming projects include Housefull 5, Welcome to the Jungle, and Bhooth Bangla.
