Maha Vikas Aghadi Candidate Rahul Kalate Files Nomination Amidst Show of Strength; Rally Witnesses Strong Youth Participation
Wakad, Oct 29: Rahul Kalate, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate representing the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) for the Chinchwad Assembly seat, marked his nomination filing day with a massive and vibrant show of support. On October 29, he officially submitted his candidacy to Election Officer Anil Pawar, joined by a vast gathering of supporters and notable leaders, creating a powerful demonstration of MVA’s unity and intent.
Present at the rally were influential figures like Member of Parliament Amol Kolhe, Congress Committee Secretary Prithviraj Sathe, NCP city president Tushar Kamathe, and a long list of former corporators, youth leaders, and other party officials, highlighting MVA’s strong backing for Kalate. Supporters thronged the event, with a rally that commenced following blessings at the revered Shri Mhatoba temple. In keeping with traditional practices, the event began with rituals performed by married women, fireworks, and the symbolic sounds of drums, all contributing to a ceremonial atmosphere that underscored the unity and enthusiasm for Kalate’s candidacy.
The rally itself was a spectacle, winding through major city landmarks such as Wakad Chowk, Datta Mandir Road, Pink City, and Chhatrapati Chowk. The route continued through Kalewadi Phata, Rahatni Phata, Tapkir Chowk, Keshavnagar, Chinchwadgaon, Thergaon Phata, and Thergaon village, drawing a supportive crowd at each stop. Citizens lined the streets, welcoming the procession with garlands and showering it with flowers, reinforcing the widespread backing that Kalate enjoys within the constituency.
Upon completing the official procedures for his candidacy, Kalate addressed the gathering, expressing heartfelt gratitude to MVA leadership, particularly the alliance’s coalition of local leaders, dedicated workers, and the people of Chinchwad. He spoke of the MVA’s shared vision for the constituency, declaring that Chinchwad deserves a forward-looking representative capable of ensuring substantial development over the next fifty years. Acknowledging MVA’s considerable voter base in the area, he affirmed his commitment to working closely with all alliance factions to bring this vision to fruition and solidify MVA’s stance.
Chinchwad’s voters have demonstrated their confidence in MVA’s vision. Our focus will be on resolving issues that have long needed attention and advancing the constituency’s progress.
