Pune: Excise Department Seizes Illegal Stock Of Foreign Liquor Worth Rs 13 Lakh In Junnar
Pune, November 15: Under the guidance of Excise Superintendent Charansingh Rajput, Pune, the excise department seized foreign liquor worth 1.3 million rupees from Otur in Junnar, during the code of conduct period for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections, as informed by Inspector Devdatt Pote of Excise Flying Squad No. 3.
On November 13, the team received information about illegal storage of foreign liquor, wine, and beer near Balaji Plaza on Nagar Kalyan Road, Otur, intended for illicit sale. A raid led to the confiscation of 262 boxes containing 100 boxes of foreign liquor, 125 boxes of beer, and 37 boxes of wine, totaling a value of 1,320,420 rupees. A case has been filed against Mayur Purushottam Tambe.
Inspector Devdatt Pote, along with officers Y.M. Chavan, P.A. Thakre, assistant inspector Sanjay Sathe, and team members Jagannath Chavan, Amar Kamble, Jaydas Date, Anil Dangat, and Sharad Handgar, participated in the operation. Mr. Pote urged citizens to report any information regarding illegal liquor production, sales, transportation, or storage to the excise flying squad immediately.
