In India, a significant portion of the population still relies on ration cards to receive grains. This system helps many individuals in need to cook meals at home. Recently, an important update regarding these ration cards has emerged, which is crucial for beneficiaries to know. If you haven’t completed the KYC process for your ration card yet, it’s important to do so right away; otherwise, you risk being removed from the beneficiary list and may stop receiving grain benefits starting in December.

The eKYC process is required for all members listed on the ration cards of families enrolled in the National Food Security Scheme. If any customer’s fingerprints are not scanned during the eKYC, their verification will be conducted using an Iris machine. Failure to complete this process will result in losing access to these benefits.

This information specifically pertains to those under the Rajasthan Food Security Scheme. At present, around 4.46 crore individuals in Rajasthan are receiving assistance from the National Food Security Scheme. The government has set a deadline for eKYC registration, which is November 30. If individuals do not complete this registration by that date, they will not be able to obtain grains using their ration cards from the following month.

It is important to understand that beneficiaries who do not finish the eKYC by the deadline will lose their ration benefits starting in December, and their names will be removed from the food security list. All ration shop owners have been instructed to ensure compliance with this requirement. By November 30, 2024, it is mandatory for all family members connected to this scheme to complete the eKYC process.
