A 40-year-old man has been booked by the Bund Garden Police for allegedly submitting fake non-agricultural (NA) land order documents to register a property. According to the complaint filed by Vidya Amol Sangale, 34, sub-registrar of Haveli, he  furnished bogus documents signed in the name of sub-divisional officer Snehal Barge, thereby misleading and cheating the government.

The incident occurred on June 13, 2022, but the FIR was lodged on November 13 under Sections 420, 465, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 82. These sections pertain to cheating, forgery, and using forged documents as genuine ¹. The accused’s actions led to the registration of the property, causing financial losses to the government.

The sub-registrar’s office took action after discovering the forgery, highlighting the importance of verifying documents in property transactions. This case serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance in preventing such scams and ensuring the integrity of land registration processes.

The police are now investigating the matter, and further action is expected to be taken against the accused.
