Traffic Restrictions Announced In Pune For Vote Counting On November 23 In Koregaon ParkĀ
Traffic Diversion On Pune-Solapur Road From December 6 Due To Pipeline Laying Work
Pune, November 22, 2024: In view of the 2024 Assembly Election Results, vote counting will take place at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) warehouse in Koregaon Park. Anticipating the arrival of government officials, counting representatives, and citizens, traffic restrictions have been imposed to avoid congestion and ensure smooth movement.
Amol Zende, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Pune City, has issued the following orders:
No Parking Zones:
On November 23, 2024, the following areas will be designated as no-parking zones:
- South Main Road, from Lane No. 05 Junction (east) to Lane No. 02 Junction (west).
- Lanes No. 03 and 04, for up to 200 meters.
Traffic Restrictions:
- South Main Road Closure:
- FromĀ Don Bosco Youth CenterĀ onward, South Main Road will be closed for all vehicles fromĀ 10:00 PM on November 22, 2024, until the completion of the counting process.
- Restrictions from St. Mira’s College and Atur Park Society:
- Vehicles heading toward South Main Road from these points will be restricted beyond Lane No. 1.
- Lanes No. 5, 6, and 7 Access:
- Vehicles entering South Main Road from these lanes will be restricted beyond Lane No. 4. Drivers must take a right turn to reach their destination.
- Lane-Specific Closures:
- Vehicles heading to South Main Road from Lane No. 02 near Plot No. 38 (Jain Property) and Lane No. 03 near Bungalow Nos. 67 and 68 will face entry restrictions.
Parking Arrangements:
To accommodate officials, staff, and citizens, designated parking locations have been identified:
- Pujya Kasturba Gandhi School, North Main Road, Koregaon Park (two-wheelers for officials/staff):Ā Capacity 600ā700.
- Rohi Villa Lawns, Lane No. 7, Koregaon Park (two-wheelers and four-wheelers for citizens):Ā Capacity 600ā700.
- The Pune School and Home for the Blind Trust, North Main Road, Koregaon Park (four-wheelers for officials/staff and citizens):Ā Capacity 800ā900.
Notification Period:
The restrictions will remain in effect from 10:00 PM on November 22, 2024, until the completion of the vote-counting process. Essential service vehicles (police, fire brigade, ambulances) and election vehicles are exempted.
Citizens are advised to use the designated parking facilities and cooperate with traffic personnel and volunteers.
