Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Raj Thackeray Urges MNS Leaders To Collect Evidence Against EVMsÂ

Raj Thackeray Calls For Mega Rally On July 6 To Protest Hindi Language Imposition In Maharashtra Schools
Pune: Following a complete defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, where the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) failed to secure any of the 128 contested seats, party president Raj Thackeray has directed his party officials to gather evidence against alleged discrepancies in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Concerns over large-scale financial transactions during the elections were also raised by some candidates.
In a post-election introspection meeting chaired by Thackeray on Thursday, MNS candidates and local leaders from western and northern Maharashtra discussed the reasons behind the poor performance. Thackeray questioned the candidates about voter turnout, campaign challenges, and the issues they faced during the elections.
Allegations of EVM Tampering and Irregularities
Many candidates attributed their defeat to alleged EVM manipulation, while some suspected significant financial transactions in certain constituencies. In light of these concerns, Thackeray instructed party officials to document their complaints and collect solid evidence regarding EVM irregularities. Once sufficient evidence is gathered, it will be submitted to him for further action.
Focus on Strengthening Party Organization
While reflecting on the party’s performance, attendees emphasized the need to expand and strengthen the party’s organizational structure for future elections. Despite taking a firm stance during the campaign, the MNS’s inability to win even a single seat has highlighted the need for internal restructuring and strategic planning.
After the meeting, senior party leader Rajendra “Babu” Wagskar informed the media about the deliberations, stating that evidence against EVM irregularities would be compiled and presented to Raj Thackeray. Based on this, the party will decide the next course of action. However, Thackeray did not directly address the media following the meeting.
This marks a pivotal moment for the MNS as it seeks to rebuild its base and address concerns about the integrity of the electoral process.
