Maharashtra Weather Update: Cyclone Fengal Brings Unseasonal Rains, Yellow Alert Issued for Over 10 Districts
Unseasonal rains caused by Cyclone Fengal affect temperatures and agriculture across Maharashtra
Maharashtra, which had been experiencing a steady drop in temperatures, is now under the impact of Cyclone Fengal brewing in the Bay of Bengal. This has led to unseasonal rainfall across various parts of the state. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain is expected in several regions over the next three days starting December 4.
Weather Forecast for December 5
• Mumbai: The city and suburbs are likely to experience cloudy skies. While temperatures in Mumbai have been gradually rising, today’s maximum temperature is forecasted at 34°C and the minimum at 24°C. This means Mumbai residents will continue to deal with unseasonal humidity even during the winter months.
• Pune: IMD predicts light rain in Pune today, with overcast conditions likely to persist for the next few days. Pune’s maximum temperature is expected to be 28°C, and the minimum is forecasted at 19°C.
• Marathwada: In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), light rain is also on the horizon. The maximum temperature here is likely to be 29°C, while the minimum is 20°C.
• Vidarbha: Nagpur is expected to witness foggy and cloudy conditions. Farmers in Washim have raised concerns as light rainfall has already impacted crops. Nagpur’s maximum and minimum temperatures are forecasted at 31°C and 17°C, respectively.
• North Maharashtra: Nashik, which recorded the coldest temperatures post-Diwali, is now seeing a rise in minimum temperatures. Today, Nashik is expected to record a maximum of 30°C and a minimum of 18°C, signaling a dip in winter intensity.
