Pune: A college girl was threatened with a sharp weapon and robbed of a gold chain worth ₹1 lakh at Hanuman Tekdi. This marks the third such incident of looting in the area. The girl, accompanied by her friend, filed a complaint at the Deccan Police Station.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Saturday, January 4, around 2 PM, when the girl and her friend visited the Hanuman Tekdi area near Senapati Bapat Road. The assailants threatened the duo with a weapon, verbally abused them, and assaulted the girl before stealing her gold chain. Terrified, the victims returned home and filed a police complaint on Monday, January 6.

Senior Inspector Girisha Nimbalkar visited the site, and Sub-Inspector Sawant is leading the investigation. Over the past two months, three cases of robbery targeting college students visiting Tekdi areas, including Baner-Pashan and Hanuman Tekdi, have been reported.

The recent incidents have raised concerns among residents, who frequently visit these popular hill areas like Hanuman Tekdi, Vetal Tekdi, Pashan-Baner Hill, and Taljai Hill for recreation. Police are actively working to ensure the safety of visitors and prevent further crimes.
