Matheran Toy Train Service Between Neral and Aman Lodge Suspended From June 15; Central Railway Announces Monsoon Shuttle Schedule

Matheran, June 15, 2026: Central Railway has decided to suspend regular passenger services on the Neral–Aman Lodge section of the Neral–Matheran narrow-gauge railway line during the monsoon season. The suspension will remain in effect from June 15, 2026, to October 15, 2026.

Regular services between Neral and Aman Lodge on the iconic Matheran Hill Railway will remain suspended from 15 June to 15 October 2026 to ensure safe train operations during the monsoon season.

To ensure convenience for tourists and local passengers during this period, shuttle train services will continue to operate between Matheran and Aman Lodge. These services will be available daily, with additional special trips scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays.

All shuttle services will operate with three second-class coaches, one first-class coach, and two second-class luggage-cum-van coaches.

Matheran–Aman Lodge Shuttle Services (Daily)

1. Train No. 52154 departs Matheran at 8:20 a.m. and arrives at Aman Lodge at 8:38 a.m.
2. Train No. 52156 departs Matheran at 9:10 a.m. and arrives at Aman Lodge at 9:28 a.m.
3. Train No. 52158 departs Matheran at 11:35 a.m. and arrives at Aman Lodge at 11:53 a.m.
4. Train No. 52160 departs Matheran at 2:00 p.m. and arrives at Aman Lodge at 2:18 p.m.
5. Train No. 52162 departs Matheran at 3:15 p.m. and arrives at Aman Lodge at 3:33 p.m.
6. Train No. 52164 departs Matheran at 5:20 p.m. and arrives at Aman Lodge at 5:38 p.m.

Additional Weekend Special Services (Saturday and Sunday)

7. Special-2 departs Matheran at 10:05 a.m. and arrives at Aman Lodge at 10:23 a.m.
8. Special-4 departs Matheran at 1:10 p.m. and arrives at Aman Lodge at 1:28 p.m.

Central Railway has clarified that the toy train service between Neral and Aman Lodge will remain suspended from June 15 onwards, while shuttle operations between Matheran and Aman Lodge will continue throughout the monsoon period to facilitate tourist movement and local travel.
