Pune: Pune Police Crack Down On Illegal Gas Cylinder Trade On Sinhagad Road, Seize 61 Cylinders ( Representative Image )
Pune: Sinhagad Road Police uncovered an illegal operation involving the hoarding and unauthorized sale of domestic cooking gas cylinders. One individual has been arrested in connection with the case, and 61 cylinders, along with a tempo, have been seized.
The arrested individual has been identified as Vikas Dhondappa Akale (31), currently residing in Charwad Vasti, Vadgaon Budruk, originally from Solapur. Notably, Akale had faced similar action two months ago.
While patrolling the Vadgaon Budruk area, the Sinhagad Road Police received information about the illegal storage of gas cylinders. Acting on the tip, the police set up a trap and discovered a tempo loaded with the cylinders. Akale was detained, and during the investigation, it was revealed that he was illegally hoarding the cylinders. Authorities are now investigating the source of the cylinders and where they were being sold.
This operation was carried out under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Dilip Daingade of Sinhagad Road Police Station and Crime Branch Inspector Uttam Bhajanawale, with the support of Assistant Inspector Sachin Nikam, Sub-Inspector Santosh Bhandwalkar, and their team.
