Pune: Dust Pollution In Megapolis Society In Hinjawadi Reaches Alarming Levels, Residents Seek Help From Authorities

Residents of Megapolis societies in Pune are facing severe dust pollution, leading to rising health and allergy problems. The main culprits behind this issue are damaged roads, poor cleaning, and garbage on the roads.
According to sources, heavy traffic, construction work by prominent builders and the constant movement of hyva and RMC trucks have exacerbated the problem. The construction activities have generated massive amounts of dust, which is affecting the air quality in the area.
Residents have complained of respiratory problems, allergies, and other health issues due to the dust pollution. “The dust pollution in our area is unbearable,” said a resident of Megapolis society. “We are forced to keep our windows closed all the time, and even then, the dust manages to seep in.”
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and other authorities, including MIDC, PMRDA, PITCMRL, and ZP/Grampanchayat, have been informed about the issue. However, no concrete steps have been taken to address the problem, complained the citizens. The citizens had sought help from the Central Board Of Pollution Control to which the CPCB has directed the complaint to the concerned authorities.
The residents are hoping that the authorities will take immediate action to address the issue and provide them with some relief from the dust pollution.
