A tragic incident involving the Indian Air Force has come to light. On Thursday, a Mirage 2000 fighter jet crashed in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. Both pilots sustained injuries but are reported to be safe. The aircraft caught fire after the crash, and a video of the incident has surfaced. Notably, Mirage 2000 fighter jets played a crucial role in several operations, including the 2019 Balakot airstrike.

Court of Inquiry Ordered

According to reports, the fighter jet crashed around 2:20 PM in the Karaira region of Shivpuri district. Defense officials stated that the aircraft was on a routine training sortie before it went down. To determine the cause of the crash, a Court of Inquiry has been ordered.

Pilots Safe, Local Administration Responds Swiftly

Both pilots managed to eject safely but sustained injuries. The crashed jet was a twin-seater aircraft. Upon receiving the news, local authorities dispatched a team to the site, and police have also arrived at the location. The jet was completely destroyed in the fire, and a video of the wreckage has emerged.

The aircraft crashed into a field near Bahreta Sani village in Shivpuri district, igniting flames. As smoke rose from the site, villagers rushed to the scene. Locals assisted the injured pilots, helping them move to safety.
