Pune, February 13, 2025 – A Mahavitaran employee was assaulted with an iron pipe by a defaulter after his electricity connection was disconnected due to unpaid bills. The incident took place on Monday (February 10) at Tupevasti, Haveli. The injured employee has been hospitalized, and a criminal case has been registered against the accused at the Uruli Kanchan police station.

According to reports, Senior Technician Nilesh Chakane and Electrical Assistant Shahabaz Shaikh from Mahavitaran’s Uruli Kanchan sub-division were inspecting unauthorized power reconnections in the Sainagar area of Tupevasti. During their inspection, they found that electricity at a house owned by Prakash Pardeshi had been illegally reconnected after being officially disconnected on January 23 due to unpaid bills.

While they were taking further action, tenant Kamlesh Uttam Londhe confronted them aggressively, questioning their authority. He verbally abused both employees and then attacked Senior Technician Chakane with an iron pipe, striking him on the head. Chakane, who sustained injuries, was immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment.
