Pune: The Pune Traffic Police has introduced new parking regulations in Kondhwa to streamline traffic movement and enhance road safety.

The rules, implemented under the Motor Vehicles Act and Maharashtra Government’s Home Department notifications, aim to address parking issues and reduce congestion in the area.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende announced these changes, highlighting that essential service vehicles such as fire trucks, police vehicles, and ambulances will be exempt. The key regulations are as follows:

Key Parking Regulations:

  1. Kondhwa Traffic Division :
    • No Parking Zone: From Kondhwa Traffic Division to Merryland High School.
    • Allowed Parking:
      • Motorcycles: Raviraj Asteria to South Indian Snacks Center.
      • Cars: Duggu Stationery to Café Malang.
    • Restricted Zones: Specific sections near Pokale Mala Chowk and D.S.K. Chowk.
  2. Unitos Chowk to Kumar Sansar Society:
    • Parking allowed for motorcycles and cars.
  3. Dagdudada Kamthe Patil Chowk to Merryland High School:
    • No parking on either side of the road.
  4. Additional Restrictions:
    • No parking from Pokale Mala Chowk to D.S.K. Chowk.
    • Specific parking spots assigned near society gates, including Alcon Royce Society and Sobha Ivory Society.

The traffic police urge residents and commuters to follow the new regulations to avoid congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow in the area. The measures were introduced following numerous complaints about haphazard parking and traffic disruptions.

Authorities have assured continuous monitoring to ensure adherence to the new rules and maintain safety on Kondhwa’s busy roads.
