Experience ‘Digital Snan’ at Maha Kumbh Mela – Meet the Man Behind the Innovation!
In a world where convenience reigns supreme, one entrepreneur has taken the concept of a holy dip to a whole new level! As millions gather at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a unique online service is offering devotees a chance to experience spiritual purification without ever leaving their homes.
In a viral video, entrepreneur Deepak Goyal is offering a ‘digital snan’ (holy dip) service. For just Rs 1,100, he collects photos from devotees via WhatsApp and promises to purify their souls by dipping a photocopy of their images in the sacred waters. Goyal, a journalist from Prayagraj, assures clients that their photos will be immersed within 24 hours of payment.
Goel, who graduated in journalism from the Asian College of Journalism and works in the media field, launched this distinctive service on February 19. Up to now, only Indian citizens have registered, but with the growing popularity of blessings on demand, it might just be a matter of time before it catches on globally. However, Goel chose not to disclose how many requests he has received so far.
While this digital snan service has gained traction on social media, reactions are mixed. Some criticize Goyal for exploiting people’s faith and innocence, while others praise his entrepreneurial spirit, calling him a true innovator.
“Tum andhbhakti ko criticise karte raho, usne andhbhakti mein business dhoondh liya… Real entrepreneur” (Keep Criticizing blind faith, he found business in blind faith…. Real entrepreneur) commented a user.
Another user joked, “China has DeepSeek, so what do we have? DeepSnaan.”
One individual remarked, “The fact that this is not satire or comedy.”
“India got the latent series continues,” said another user.
An account stated, “I am not lying… just a week earlier I was thinking someone could start a business like this.”
Another wrote, if you are really paying him for this, I would be ashamed to be called an Indian!
Regarding the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering began on Paush Purnima, January 13, and will end on February 26. So far, the total number of devotees who have taken the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam has surpassed 58 crore, and it is expected to exceed 65 crore before the event concludes.
