Pune: Katraj Chowk Traffic Issue Resolved After 28 Years As PMC Acquires Land
Pune, 25 February 2025: The long-pending land acquisition at Katraj Main Chowk, which had been causing traffic congestion for nearly 28 years, has finally been completed by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale and Additional Commissioner Prithviraj B.P., the land acquisition was carried out as per legal procedures. The property, part of Survey No. 1/2B, was a key obstacle in the 60-meter DP Road development.
Successful Completion of Land Acquisition
The initiative was led by the Land Acquisition and Management Department, with efforts from Deputy Commissioner Pratibha Patil, Deputy Engineer Dingambar Bigar, Branch Engineer Rupali Dhage, and Draughtsman Santosh Shinde. Additionally, Special Land Acquisition Officers Harshad Ghule and Ajinkya Patil played a crucial role in ensuring the successful handover of the land to PMC.
Major Relief for Katraj-Kondhwa Traffic
With this land now under PMC’s control, the long-standing traffic congestion at Katraj Main Chowk and along the Katraj-Kondhwa road is expected to ease significantly. This development marks a major milestone in improving the city’s road infrastructure and ensuring smoother traffic movement.
