Govinda and Sunita Ahuja Reportedly Headed for Divorce After 37 Years of Marriage
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja are reportedly living separately after 37 years of marriage. While neither has officially confirmed their separation or divorce, reports suggest differences in lifestyle choices have created a rift between them.
According to Zoom TV, the couple has been living apart for some time now. Additionally, Bollywood Now speculates that Govinda’s alleged association with a Marathi actress may have contributed to the growing distance.
Sunita Ahuja Confirms Separate Residences
In a recent interview, Sunita Ahuja revealed that she and Govinda are residing in separate homes. She explained that she lives in a flat with their children, while Govinda stays in a bungalow located opposite their apartment.
“We have two houses—our flat and a bungalow opposite it. I stay in the flat with my temple and my kids, while Govinda often stays at the bungalow since he returns late from meetings. He enjoys talking and will sit with ten people chatting for hours, while my son, daughter, and I live together but speak very little. I feel too much talking just drains your energy,” Sunita shared.
A Look at Their Relationship
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja tied the knot in March 1987, but they publicly disclosed their marriage only after welcoming their daughter, Tina, in 1988. The couple later had a son, Yashvardhan, in 1997.
Despite the reported distance, Sunita reflected on Govinda’s personality, jokingly remarking, “I’ve told him that in my next life, he shouldn’t be my husband. He never takes holidays. I love going out and eating pani-puri on the streets with my husband, but he’s always been too focused on work. I can’t recall a single time we went out to watch a movie together.”
While speculation continues, neither Govinda nor Sunita has issued an official statement regarding the future of their relationship.
