Pune: Police Probe Reveals ‘Mind Reports’ Allegedly Used by Self-Styled Godman Radhamohan Mishra to Control and Blackmail Followers
Pune, June 20, 2026: Fresh details have emerged in the investigation against self-styled godman Radhamohan Mishra, with police alleging that he systematically collected deeply personal information from followers through written “mind reports” and later used the material to exert control and psychological pressure on devotees.
According to investigators, Mishra, who allegedly projected himself as a divine incarnation, required followers to regularly submit written reports detailing their thoughts, personal struggles, family matters, mistakes, and private secrets. Devotees were reportedly warned that withholding information or providing false details would result in severe spiritual consequences, including punishment in the afterlife.
Police claim that the information contained in these reports was later used as a tool for intimidation and manipulation. Investigators allege that Mishra would threaten followers with exposing sensitive details to their families, creating an atmosphere of fear and dependence within the ashram.
The investigation has also revealed allegations involving a woman who has accused Mishra of prolonged exploitation. According to police, when she attempted to inform her family about the alleged abuse, Mishra allegedly disclosed personal information from her written reports to family members, damaging her credibility and weakening their trust in her claims.
Police allege that this enabled Mishra to continue exerting influence over the woman for several years, during which she was subjected to sexual, mental, and physical exploitation.
Mishra is currently in the custody of the Kharadi Police. Authorities have also arrested Swami Kanwal Nayan and six women in connection with the case.
Investigators have seized laptops, mobile phones, pen drives, and hard disks from the ashram. Since many of the digital devices are password-protected, forensic experts are conducting technical analysis. Police believe the electronic evidence could reveal additional details and potentially lead to further disclosures in the case.
In another significant finding, police allege that Mishra persuaded the complainant to remove cash and important documents from her father’s residence. Investigators claim that these documents were subsequently used to transfer property registered in the woman’s name to Mishra.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are examining both digital and documentary evidence to determine the full extent of the alleged offences.
