Pimpri: The Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation’s tax assessment and collection department has announced the auction of 520 properties with pending dues. Defaulters have been granted an extension until March 5 to clear their dues. Failure to pay within this period will result in the auction of their properties.

The tax collection department has intensified its seizure drive since December 2024, sealing and confiscating 877 properties with outstanding dues. These include non-residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties. So far, 357 property owners have cleared their dues, leading to the reversal of the sealing action. The auction process for the remaining 520 properties has begun. Defaulters have until March 5 as the final deadline to make payments. Those who fail to do so will incur an additional 15% auction cost on their property tax dues.

Once the auction process begins, property owners will have limited opportunities to avoid it. Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale has urged property owners to clear their outstanding tax payments before the auction notice is published to prevent their properties from being auctioned.

The city’s property tax defaulters are currently facing seizure actions, with repeated appeals to clear dues and avoid confiscation. The auction process has begun for properties that remain unpaid despite being sealed. Property owners whose properties have been seized are advised to settle their pending dues in full before March 5, 2025, to prevent their assets from being auctioned, Jambhale further stated.
