Three Coaches Arrive; Remaining To Be Delivered by March-End

Pimpri, March 1, 2025 – The Maan-Hinjewadi Metro, under the jurisdiction of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), is nearing completion, with trial runs set to begin soon. Three metro coaches have already arrived for testing, while the final coach is expected to be delivered by the end of March.

This metro line, connecting Hinjewadi (Maan, Megapolis) to Shivajinagar, is the third metro corridor linking Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The entire route is elevated, passing over the Pune-Bengaluru highway and the Mula River. Key stations such as Baner, Sakal Nagar, and Civil Court are still under construction. Additionally, work on staircases and the remaining sections of eleven stations is in progress.

Project Delays and Extension

Speaking on the progress, PMRDA Chief Engineer Rinaz Pathan stated that critical work is still pending, and the trial run will be conducted once these tasks are completed. Due to project delays, PMRDA issued a warning to the contractor and granted a six-month extension to complete the remaining work. The administration now aims to finish the project by October 2025.
