Pune Traffic Police Implements Diversion At Amba Vatika Society In Kondhwa
Pune, March 11, 2025: The Kondhwa Traffic Division has started implementing no-entry restrictions on a pilot basis at ABC Farms Chowk and NIBM Chowk to tackle growing traffic congestion. While the move initially caused confusion among residents, officials are optimistic that commuters will soon adapt to the new traffic flow.
Kumar Ghadge, senior police inspector, Kondhwa traffic division said, “This move aims at reducing traffic congestion at NIBM chowk in Kondhwa. We are devising these diversions to decongest the internal lanes too. We are hoping that the citizens will cooperate with us.”
Traffic Issues in the Area
With rapid urbanization, high vehicle density, bottlenecks, and irregular parking have led to severe congestion in ABC Farms Chowk and NIBM Chowk, Salunke Vihar. Traffic delays and lack of discipline have further worsened the situation, prompting authorities to take immediate action.

Temporary No-Entry Restrictions & Alternate Routes
To ease congestion, Pune Traffic Police has introduced the following changes:
- No entry for vehicles from Samvidhan Chowk to ABC Farms Chowk.
Alternate Route: Use Oxford Village Road and Kedari Petrol Pump Road to reach the destination. - No entry for vehicles from Salunke Vihar Road to NIBM Chowk via Amba Vatika.
Alternate Route: Use Kubera Garden Road instead.
Seeking Public Feedback
Residents can submit suggestions or complaints regarding these traffic changes from March 6, 2025, to March 20, 2025, at: Bungalow No. 6, Jail Road, Near Yerwada Post Office, Pune Traffic Police Headquarters, Pune.
Additional Traffic Management Measures
To further improve traffic conditions, the Pune Traffic Department is planning:
Better traffic signal coordination for smoother vehicle flow.
Strict enforcement of parking regulations to reduce road obstructions.
Potential road widening and lane restructuring at key congestion points.
Additional traffic personnel to regulate peak-hour movement.

Public Cooperation Needed
Authorities urge motorists and residents to follow traffic guidelines, avoid illegal parking, and cooperate with the new traffic rules to help ease congestion in these high-traffic areas. Long-term infrastructural solutions are also being explored to enhance connectivity and ensure smoother vehicular movement in Kondhwa and surrounding areas.
