Maharashtra Medical Council Launches ‘Know Your Doctor’ Platform To Curb Fraudulent Practices
In a move to combat fraudulent medical practices and enhance transparency in healthcare, the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) has introduced the Know Your Doctor (KYD) platform. This initiative aims to empower patients by providing verified information about registered medical practitioners, ensuring they receive treatment from qualified professionals.
Unlicensed medical practices continue to be a major concern, especially in rural and vulnerable areas. The MMC has been actively working to identify and remove fraudulent practitioners from its registry. The launch of the KYD platform marks a significant step in this effort.
As part of the initiative, MMC is encouraging all Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) in Maharashtra to display a QR Code-based KYD Card at their clinics and hospitals. Patients can scan this QR code using their smartphones or computers to instantly verify their doctor’s credentials and authenticity.
