Pune: A reported case of kidnapping from Hadapsar turned out to be a road accident following a police investigation. The incident involved Sahil Dongre, who was initially believed to have been abducted and assaulted by a group of 20-22 people before being dumped at Dive Ghat. However, police scrutiny and CCTV footage confirmed that Dongre had met with an accident.

According to Hadapsar Police, Dongre was last seen on March 17, 2025, around 10:00 PM, leaving Sagar Bar with his friend Aniket Maske after consuming alcohol. Maske later returned home. CCTV and technical analysis revealed that Dongre was at Dive Ghat/Dumewadi from around 11:30 PM on March 17 to 5:00 AM on March 18.

A distress call was made to Dial 108/112, and police at Saswad station received information about an accident near Hotel Sairup. The caller reported that a motorcyclist had sustained an eye injury and was unconscious, seeking medical assistance. However, emergency responders were occupied with another incident and could not reach the location immediately.
