Pune News: Pay Your Dues Before March 31 Or Face Property Attachment, Warns PCMC
Property Tax Department issues final appeal to defaulters
Pimpri: With the financial year drawing to a close and revenue recovery efforts in full swing, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued a final warning to property tax defaulters: clear your dues before March 31 or face immediate property attachment.
As part of the ongoing enforcement drive, PCMC has already taken action against over 1,069 properties, while water connections to nearly 1,020 properties have been disconnected. Another 434 properties are in the final stages of being auctioned.
Despite multiple appeals, many defaulters have failed to respond, prompting the Property Tax Department to intensify its actions. Officials have stated that harsh measures, including property attachment and disconnection of services, are now unavoidable.
Tax Counters Open Till Midnight
To facilitate last-minute payments, PCMC has decided to keep all 18 divisional tax offices and cash counters open from 9:45 AM to 12:00 midnight until March 31. Citizens are urged to take advantage of this extended timing and pay their dues promptly, said Assistant Commissioner Avinash Shinde.
Action Will Continue Against Persistent Defaulters
“Despite repeated notices, many property owners have not paid their taxes. We have been directed to take strict action, and so far, we’ve seized 1,069 properties and disconnected water supply to 1,020 properties. I strongly urge all defaulters to settle their dues immediately to avoid further action.”
