Pune, July 22, 2026: Shiv Sena Pune City Chief Pramod Nana Bhangire has demanded that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) immediately provide an alternative access road for students in Mahadevwadi’s Krishna nagar area of the Hadapsar Assembly constituency, warning of a major public agitation if the issue is not resolved promptly.

According to Bhangire, hundreds of students are being forced to risk their lives every day while travelling to school as the approach road has completely caved in. He also alleged that large heaps of garbage dumped along the route have created unhygienic conditions, posing a serious threat to the health and safety of children.

Criticising the civic administration, Bhangire said the PMC cannot evade responsibility by claiming that the damaged road is located on private land. He asserted that ensuring safe access to educational institutions is a matter of public interest and should be treated as a top priority.

He urged the PMC to immediately create an alternative route for students, secure the damaged stretch of road, and remove the accumulated garbage on a war footing to restore cleanliness in the area.

Bhangire further warned that if the civic body fails to provide a safe alternative road and clear the garbage without delay, Shiv Sena will launch an intensified public protest against the Pune Municipal Corporation.

The party maintained that it would not tolerate negligence that compromises the safety and well-being of schoolchildren.
