Pune News:Â Hinjawadi Phase 3 Societies Suffer Heavy Losses Due to Prolonged Power Outages

Power Supply Disrupted for Approx 4,57,000 Consumers in Pune Due to Fault in 44p kV Transmission Line In JejuriÂ
Residents of Hinjawadi Phase 3 (Bhoirwadi region) are grappling with persistent electricity issues, with no concrete action from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) despite repeated complaints. Over 10,000 families, including IT professionals, are facing frequent and prolonged power outages, severely impacting daily life.
Several residential complexes such as Melange Residences, Fusion Towers, Livmo, Tinsel County, Coral, and 32 Pinewood, along with multiple PG accommodations, are incurring substantial expenses to maintain essential services. Societies are forced to spend lakhs annually on diesel to operate lifts, water pumps, and common area lighting. Melange Residences alone reports an additional annual diesel expenditure of ₹7-10 lakh.
Residents express frustration over MSEDCL’s inability to provide consistent power, even as the government advocates for renewable energy solutions. The reliance on diesel generators is not only financially burdensome but also environmentally harmful. Local engineers have allegedly provided false assurances without offering a long-term solution.
Community members urge local authorities to intervene and ensure MSEDCL takes immediate corrective measures. As Hinjawadi remains a key IT hub, residents emphasize the need for reliable infrastructure and uninterrupted electricity services, which they are already paying for.
