Bank Holiday: Nationwide Closures in April 2025 – Full List of State-Wise Holidays
The banking sector across India is set to witness multiple holidays in April, impacting in-person banking operations. As the new financial year 2025-26 commences, banks remain closed on April 1 for internal audits and back-end processes. Additionally, banks in Jharkhand observe a state-wide closure for the Sarhul festival, a significant cultural celebration.
Eid-ul-Fitr Leads to Holiday Closures
On March 31, banks in several states were closed due to Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations. While digital banking services such as UPI, mobile banking, and online transactions remained functional, physical banking operations, including cheque deposits and account openings, were unavailable.
April 2025: 14 Bank Holidays Nationwide
April will see a total of 14 bank holidays, including Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, and various state and national holidays. Customers are advised to plan their financial transactions accordingly to avoid disruptions.
