Pune: A 37-year-old woman, Sheetal Kathare, a resident of Warje Malwadi, lost her handbag containing gold jewelry, a mobile phone, important documents, and cash at a CNG pump but was fortunate to have it recovered by Hadapsar police.

On April 1, 2025, around 1:00 AM, Kathare visited Balaji Petrol Pump No. 15 with her family to refill CNG. While exiting the vehicle, her handbag accidentally fell to the ground. It contained a gold mangalsutra (1 to 1.5 tolas), a Redmi 5G mobile phone, essential documents, and ₹1,000 in cash. She only realized the bag was missing after reaching home.

Upon returning to search for the lost handbag, she was unable to find it. She then approached Hadapsar Police Station to file a complaint. Acting swiftly, the investigation team reviewed CCTV footage at the CNG pump, which showed that the bag had fallen and was picked up by an individual from a vehicle parked behind hers.
