Mild Earthquake Of 2.6 Magnitude Hits Maharashtra’s Solapur, No Damage Reported
Solapur: A mild earthquake measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale struck Solapur, Maharashtra, on April 3 at 11:22 AM, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
The tremors, recorded at a depth of 5 kilometers, were felt in parts of the region. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property.

The NCS confirmed the seismic activity through a post on X, stating: “EQ of M: 2.6, On: 03/04/2025 11:22:07 IST, Lat: 17.41 N, Long: 75.21 E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Solapur, Maharashtra.”
Shallow earthquakes, such as this one, can sometimes cause stronger ground shaking due to their proximity to the Earth’s surface. However, no significant impact was reported in this case.
This comes just days after a 4.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Leh region of Ladakh on April 1. Authorities continue to monitor seismic activities across the country.
