Shallow earthquakes, such as this one, can sometimes cause stronger ground shaking due to their proximity to the Earth’s surface. However, no significant impact was reported in this case.

This comes just days after a 4.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Leh region of Ladakh on April 1. Authorities continue to monitor seismic activities across the country.
