Man Arrested After Recording Risky Stunt Lying on Railway Tracks in Viral Video
A video showing a man lying on a railway track while a train passed overhead has gained widespread attention leading to public outrage and prompt responses from officials.
A 22-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested after performing a dangerous stunt for a social media reel, in which he lay down on railway tracks while a train passed over him. The man, identified as Ranjeet Chaurasia from Nyotani village in the Unnao district, recorded the reckless act near Kusumbhi station on the Kanpur-Lucknow route. The video was posted with dramatic music from Shah Rukh Khan’s film Badshah, and quickly went viral across social media.
The video showed Ranjeet lying on his stomach, holding a phone, as a train passed over him. Some viewers speculated that the video might have been edited and that Ranjeet didn’t actually lie on the tracks. Nevertheless, after the video spread, the Government Railway Police (GRP) took immediate action.

Ranjeet was arrested on charges of obstructing railway operations and endangering public safety. Although he deleted the video from his Instagram account, it had already been widely shared across other platforms.
The GRP confirmed that the video led to a swift investigation, with the police stating, “We registered a case as soon as the video came to our attention. The man was identified, arrested, and sent to jail. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone misusing railway tracks for stunts.”
Authorities have warned that such dangerous stunts will not be tolerated, and anyone caught performing similar acts will face severe legal consequences.
