Pune: Wagholi Residents Lodge Police Complaint Over Illegal Racing, Death Threats Inside Nyati Elan Society

Pune Police Seize Two SUVs For Reckless Racing Inside Nyati Elan Society In Wagholi After Video Goes Viral
Wagholi, Pune, April 9, 2025: Residents of Nyati Elan Central South Society in Wagholi have filed a formal complaint with the local police, alleging illegal car racing and criminal intimidation by two individuals within the society premises. The incident took place around 2 PM on Tuesday.
As per the written complaint submitted to the Wagholi Police Station, two vehicles — a Thar (MH12VQ82XX) and a Scorpio (MH12XX49XX) — were allegedly involved in repeated racing on the internal road of the residential complex. The high-speed driving reportedly endangered the lives of residents, particularly children who were present in the vicinity.
“This wasn’t ordinary reckless driving. They were intentionally racing within a gated community where children play and residents walk,” said one of the witnesses. “When we confronted them, their response was not only aggressive but threatening.”
According to the complaint, the two individuals became hostile when residents tried to intervene. They allegedly hurled abuses and issued death threats, saying things like, *“If you go to the police, I’ll kill you,”* and *“The police can’t touch us.”* One of the accused also allegedly claimed local dominance, asserting that no one could act against them.
A video recording of the incident has been submitted to the police as supporting evidence.
“This behaviour poses a direct threat to the safety and tranquility of our community,” the complaint reads. “We urge law enforcement to take swift and stringent action in accordance with the law.”
Speaking anonymously, a resident expressed concern about the deteriorating sense of safety: “We no longer feel secure in our own homes. If people can drive recklessly and threaten residents openly, and then claim immunity from the law, it’s a serious issue.”
