Pune: Online Application For FYJC Admissions To Begin From May 19
Pune: Deadline Extended For Applications For Diploma In Arts To July 5
Students applying for first-year junior college (FYJC) admissions for the academic year 2025–26 can submit their application forms online between May 19 and May 28, as per a government resolution (GR) issued on Tuesday.
The Pune divisional directorate of education has shared a list of 12 documents that students need to prepare and upload during the online application process to ensure smooth admissions. Until last year, the centralised online admission process (CAP) was applicable only to six municipal regions — Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, Nagpur, Nashik, Amravati, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. From this year, the CAP will be implemented across the entire state.
Strict action will be taken against private managements that delay or deny admission. Legal steps will also be considered if needed. No school management can admit students through any system other than the online process. Each student is allowed to submit only one application. However, students can change their stream in subsequent rounds if required.
The GR also warns that legal action will be taken against students who submit fake documents. Altering the Std X marksheet will lead to disqualification from Std XI admission for the academic year 2025–26.
Students can begin filling out Part I of the application form from May 19. Part II can be completed after the Std X results are announced. Admissions to seats under in-house, management, and minority quotas will be held in the zero round, which takes place before the regular admission rounds.
According to the GR, there will be four general rounds of admission. Merit will be based on the best of five marks in the board exam. After these rounds, a special round will be conducted for two days on a first-come, first-served basis. If the number of applications is higher than the available seats, merit will again be considered, based on Std X marks. Admissions will be processed through a computerised system using the online method.
