Pune News: Sex Racket Busted At Baner Spa; Manager Arrested, Case Filed Against Spa And Property Owner

Acting on a tip-off, Baner Police in Pune busted a sex racket being run under the guise of a massage centre on May 8. The illegal activity was discovered at Vedha Thai Spa, located near Kotak Mahindra Bank, SigneT Corner, Balewadi Phata in Baner.
Following a covert operation with a decoy customer, the police confirmed the presence of prostitution activities at the spa and conducted a raid. The spa manager, identified as Mohimmuddin Ahmed Ali, 22, was arrested at the site.
An FIR (CR No. 85/2025) has been registered at Baner Police Station under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 and Sections 143 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The spa owner and the property owner have also been booked in connection with the case.
According to police, three women were lured into the trade with the promise of money and were forced into prostitution under the pretext of spa services. It was also revealed that the premises owner knowingly allowed his property to be used for such activities and profited from the earnings.
Authorities emphasized that strict legal action will be taken not only against those operating such illegal businesses but also against those leasing spaces for prostitution.
