Pune: Senior Citizen Stuck In Lift Rescued By Fire Brigade In Market Yard
Pune, May 27: A senior citizen was safely rescued by the fire brigade after being trapped in a malfunctioning elevator for nearly 30 minutes at the Nandanvan Hotel and Lodging in Market Yard around midnight.
The incident occurred on the second floor of the four-storey building. Upon receiving the emergency alert, a rescue vehicle from the Gangadham Fire Station was immediately dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters quickly established communication with the elderly man to reassure him, promising a swift rescue. Simultaneously, a team accessed the lift’s machine room and began manually operating the lift mechanism. Within just five minutes, the trapped senior was safely brought out, thanks to the coordinated effort and calm execution of the fire personnel.
Hotel manager Ravi Kasegaonkar expressed his gratitude for the timely response and professionalism displayed by the fire brigade. He commended the team for their dedication and presence of mind during the late-night rescue.
The operation was successfully carried out by Manish Bomble (Team Leader), driver Prasad Shinde, and firefighters Dnyaneshwar Kadam, Akshay Mondhe, Dhananjay Bhise, Mandar Nalawade, and Ajit Tekawade, all from the Gangadham Fire Station.
Their prompt action prevented a potentially distressing situation and highlighted the importance of quick emergency response in ensuring the safety of citizens.
