Pune: Illegal Shops Demolished On Fergusson College Road In Major Anti-Encroachment Drive
Pune, June 5, 2025:
In a decisive action against unauthorized constructions, Pune Municipal Corporation carried out a demolition drive today, June 5, 2025, at Final Plot No. 614B on Fergusson College Road. The operation resulted in the removal of illegal shops spread across an estimated area of 12,500 square feet.
The anti-encroachment action was executed under the guidance of City Engineer and Superintendent Engineer Mr. Rajesh Bankar. The Building Development Department of Zone 6 successfully carried out the operation with full coordination among civic officials.
The demolition drive was led by Executive Engineer Surendra Karpe. He was supported on-ground by Deputy Engineers Ranjit Mutkule and Kiran Kalshetti, along with Valse-Patil. Junior Engineers Mahesh Shinde, Manojkumar Mate, Sagar Shinde, Gholap, and Zodape also participated actively in the operation. Additional technical assistants and support staff were also involved.
This action is part of the Pune Municipal Corporation’s ongoing efforts to reclaim public spaces and ensure that commercial activity takes place only in legally sanctioned zones. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against encroachments across the city to maintain urban order and promote lawful development.
Officials confirmed that similar drives will continue across other areas where illegal structures have been reported.
