Maharashtra is bracing for another round of heavy rains accompanied by gusty winds, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for the next two to three days. After a brief lull and scattered showers in some regions, the state may once again face intense weather activity.

Rivers and canals are already in spate due to previous downpours, and dam water levels have risen considerably. With fresh rain warnings, concerns over crop damage and flooding in low-lying areas have resurfaced.

Districts Under Alert:

According to the IMD, the following districts are likely to experience heavy rain with strong winds:

Regional Forecast:

Konkan Region: Light to moderate rainfall with gusty winds (30–40 kmph) and lightning in isolated areas.
Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha: Thunderstorms, lightning, and wind speeds up to 50 kmph expected at several locations.

Mumbai Weather:

Mumbai and surrounding suburbs may see moderate rainfall and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours, with a maximum temperature of 34°C and a minimum of 25°C. Cloudy skies are expected to persist.

Impact on Agriculture:

Heavy rainfall in recent days has increased water levels in many fields, but also caused crop damage in some regions. However, officials say that 350 mm of rainfall has already been recorded, and sowing activity across Maharashtra is expected to be completed by the end of June. Additional rain is expected on June 7–8 and June 13–17, ensuring continued water availability for agriculture.

Citizens are urged to stay indoors during storms, avoid flooded areas, and follow local advisories closely.
