Pune continues to grapple with urban issues like traffic congestion, accidents, and pollution. One of the key reasons identified is inadequate enforcement against traffic rule violators. The new app, developed under the leadership of Joint Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma, Addl CP Manoj Patil, and DCP (Traffic) Amol Zende, allows citizens to report such violations with photographic or video evidence.

The app enables users to report illegal parking, driving on footpaths, use of mobile phones while driving, triple seat riding, black tinted windows, fancy number plates, and driving in no-entry zones. Citizens can also report incidents causing traffic jams such as accidents, broken-down vehicles, potholes, oil or water spillage, fallen trees, or abandoned vehicles.

All reports will be verified within 48 hours, and necessary action will be taken, including issuing e-challans. The identity of complainants will be kept strictly confidential.

The traffic department has urged all citizens to follow traffic rules and support this initiative aimed at making Pune’s roads safer and smoother.

In this app, citizens will be able to upload photographs of drivers committing dangerous violations such as parking vehicles on the sidewalk, driving on the footpath, violating heavy vehicle restrictions, using mobile phones while driving, driving triple-seat vehicles, using black film, fancy number plates, driving in the opposite direction through no-entry zones, etc.

Apart from this, citizens can report traffic congestion-causing accidents, vehicle breakdowns, potholes on the road, traffic congestion, oil spills on the road, waterlogging on the road, fallen trees on the road, abandoned vehicles on the road, etc. to the Traffic Police Control Room through this app under Report Incident. The privacy of citizens who send photos of traffic violations or file complaints will be maintained. Strict vigilance will be taken to ensure that confidentiality is not violated.

The following information can be provided:

While uploading information about traffic violations, a photograph or video of the vehicle violating the rule should be posted. The number plate of the vehicle concerned must be clearly visible. While uploading information about traffic obstructions, a photograph or video of the traffic obstruction should be posted. It is necessary to provide detailed and accurate information in this tab, Description of Obstruction.

The traffic police will verify the complaints received through this app within the next 48 hours and issue online challans to the violators.

Upon receiving information about the obstructions, the Traffic Control Room Officer will immediately take cognizance of the same and inform the officer-in-charge of the concerned Traffic Department or the concerned Local Self Government Organization to resolve the complaint and fulfill the complaints received on priority. So that immediate measures are taken against the matters obstructing traffic and traffic in the city remains smooth. Since penal action will be taken after receiving information through this system, the authorities appealed to the citizens to follow the traffic rules.
