Ketan Agarwal Death Probe: Cab Driver Reveals Key Details About Missing Passport And Expressway Stop
Pune, June 29, 2026: The investigation into the death of Ketan Agarwal has taken a fresh turn after the cab driver who ferried Ketan Agarwal, Siya Goyal and two others from Pune to Mumbai ahead of their planned Bali trip made several significant claims before investigators.
Cab driver Vaibhav Jadhav recounted the events of June 6, stating that Siya Goyal had asked him to stop the vehicle at a food mall along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. After returning nearly 10 minutes later, she allegedly asked him to open the car’s boot and removed an item from her handbag that had been kept inside. Shortly afterwards, Ketan Agarwal’s passport was reported missing.
The driver’s account has gained significance as investigators continue probing the disappearance of Ketan’s passport, which forced the cancellation of the group’s planned pre-wedding trip to Bali.
Cab Driver Recounts Journey
According to Jadhav, Siya Goyal and her brother Sahil boarded the cab from Bibwewadi at around 10 a.m. on June 6. He claimed Siya was initially reluctant to get into the cab but was persuaded by her brother. After picking them up, the vehicle proceeded to Ravet, where they waited for around 10 to 15 minutes before Ketan Agarwal, his sister and two others joined the journey to Mumbai Airport.
While travelling on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Siya allegedly requested that the cab be stopped at a food mall for tea. About 10 minutes later, she returned to the vehicle and asked the driver to open the boot. Jadhav claimed she then removed an unidentified item from her handbag before the group resumed its journey to the airport after another 15 to 20 minutes.
Missing Bag, Then Missing Passport
Jadhav said that after dropping all the passengers at Mumbai Airport, he received a phone call informing him that a small bag had been left behind in the cab. He returned the bag after driving only a short distance.
A few minutes later, he received another call claiming that Ketan Agarwal’s passport had been left inside the vehicle. Jadhav said he had already checked the cab and informed the passengers that the passport was not inside. He was then asked to make a video call so the passengers could inspect the vehicle remotely, but the passport could not be located.
He was later asked to return to Mumbai Airport, where Ketan and Sahil personally searched the cab. Despite a thorough inspection, the passport remained untraceable, following which the group left the airport.
Driver Mentions Argument During Journey
Jadhav further claimed that Siya Goyal and her brother Sahil were engaged in an argument throughout the journey from Pune until Ketan joined the group at Ravet. He reiterated that although Siya had removed something from her handbag after opening the boot, he did not know what the item was.
Passport Disappearance Under Investigation
Investigators are treating the missing passport as a crucial link in the alleged conspiracy surrounding Ketan Agarwal’s death. Pune Rural Police have earlier claimed that Siya Goyal stole and destroyed Ketan’s passport, forcing the cancellation of the group’s overseas trip. According to the police, the incident was not isolated but formed part of a larger conspiracy that ultimately culminated in Ketan’s death after he was allegedly pushed from Lohagad Fort.
The investigation into the case is continuing.
