PCMC Releases List of 6 Unauthorised Schools Ahead of New Academic Year, Warns Parents

Just before the start of the 2025–26 academic year, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) education department has released an official list of unauthorised schools operating in the city. This year, six English-medium schools have been found functioning without the necessary approval. However, concerns have been raised over the delayed release of the list, as many parents may have already enrolled their children in these schools.
Despite repeated instructions, some schools have consistently avoided applying for official recognition, according to the education department. As a result, they have now been declared unauthorised.
PCMC education officer Sangeeta Bangar stated, “Even after multiple warnings, certain schools have failed to obtain approval. These schools are now officially considered unauthorised. Parents are strongly advised not to admit their children to these institutions. If they do, they will be solely responsible for any resulting academic losses. Additionally, if these unrecognised institutions continue operating and harm students’ education, they will face strict penal action.”
The municipal body emphasized that students attending unauthorised schools may face issues with board exam eligibility, transfer certificates, and future academic opportunities.
